About

I am from Canton in Cardiff (Kairdiff) and now live in Monmouthshire.  In 1967 I joined the Army as a Junior Soldier and served with the Corps of Drums in the 1st Battalion (23rd Foot) of the Royal Welch Fusiliers and Drum Major with the 1st Battalion of 22nd (Cheshire) Regiment and the 1st Battalion (28th/61st) Gloucestershire Regiment.

I played fife (flute), bugle & Drum and taught music and military skills at Depot Crickhowell.  I was lucky enough to travel around the world working/playing in many exotic countries.  Can you spot Liz & Phil in the background? ;-)

In the mid 1990’s I started work on ‘son-et-lumieres’ from which we founded Chepstow Garrison, a 17th Century Royalist/Parliamentarian Group, where I took up fife and drum again.  I have progressed with various flutes, a psalter, Saxon lyre and harp.

These days you can usually find me at historic monuments around South Wales and I also venture further afield for new enactment experiences.
